As one of the veterans of the squad, Toni Kroos has seen just about everything at Real Madrid in his five seasons in the Spanish capital
However, the German believes it is unfair to compare the current side with its European achievements attained in Zinedine Zidane's first spell.
Kroos believes that one of the ways in which the club can return to past glories is by playing more attractively.
"We want to play better football, and more consistently," Kroos told Kicker.
That's important because, after you do that, the rest comes by itself.
"If you play better, you'll be in the fight for the titles," he said.
Despite winning three consecutive Champions League under Zidane, Kroos feels comparisons are not helpful.
"It is not easy to take the team back to where Zidane left it, it is difficult to reach that level.
"Our team was in a different situation when Zidane returned in mid-March of 2019 compared to when he left the team in May 2018," he noted.
On new signing Luka Jovic, Kroos is confident that he will be a hit.
"He has integrated well.
"But he had bad luck with the injury.
"Jovic is an option who will make us stronger with what he is best at: scoring goals."

All those who attributed Madrid's success to Ronaldo.... How many champions league did Ronaldo win at Madrid before the arrival of Zidane????..... Zidane inherited a team from Bernitez that could not even win matches in LA liga within a very short time brought the spirit into the team and won the Champions league that same season.... and did so for the next 2 seasons prior to his departure!... of course Ronaldo was a major factor but Zidane brought the spirit and belief into the team.... I think managers are not given the credit they deserve in football... I see thesame thing in Barcelona... always blaming Velverde for their poor performances and hailing Messi for their victories... this is really really unfair!!!!!!!!!

Yes Ronaldo was real Madrid sauce of their success, but does that means without Ronaldo they can do it. Look guy soldier go another soldier come barracks still the same i just don know what is wrong with that team, ok let's look at few years back when Ronaldo left man untd the team come together they put their self together and they where playing well then i think that's what real Madrid need to do, if about weapons they have everything for the fight let them put their self together, i think if they do that thing will be better for them players and we fans too halal Madrid
