Kroos rules out coaching after retirement: I don't want the stress of spending half my life in hotels

Toni Kroos has revealed that he would prefer to take on a job in football commentating after hanging up his boots rather than becoming a coach of a seniors' side.

However, the Real Madrid midfielder is open to being in charge of a youth side when he hangs up his boots as he is keen to avoid any stressful travelling with a club after retiring.

"I could imagine [myself] sitting next to a great commentator and commenting on certain things," Kroos told Magenta TV. "That is something different than what an expert does, saying what was good or bad after the game.

"I don't want the stress of travelling, spending half my life in hotels and being away from family. I don't want that anymore. I would coach a small youth team."

Kroos went on to explain why he is spending 30,000 euros to travel back home by private plane after national team games.

"For me this is not stupid because I am at home when my children wake up in the morning," Kroos added. "That is why I am willing to pay all the money in the world."
