Kylian Mbappe resumes training with PSG ahead of Bayern Munich clash
PSG striker Kylian Mbappe (24) resumed training this Sunday, according to a report from L’Équipe. The 24-year-old completed part of the session with the Parisian players who did not play, or played litte part, during Les Parisiens‘ loss against Monaco yesterday. This is the first time, since his thigh injury sustained during PSG’s win at Montpellier on February 1, that Mbappe has worked outdoors by performing exercises other than those which are part of his rehabilitation, even concluding the session with a few strikes on goal.
The progress made by Mbappé therefore gives a boost for PSG, two days before hosting Bayern Munich in a season-defining Champions League round of 16 first leg. According to L’Équipe, the Paris-born striker has a real chance of making the Christophe Galtier-led squad against the German giants. A final decision will be made on the eve of the match – even if he can only feature for a brief cameo, his teammates’ recent poor performances have shown that any contribution on Mbappe’s part will be welcome.
