After the crowd at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano reacted angrily to Diego Simeone's decision to substitute Joao Felix during Atletico Madrid's clash with Barcelona last weekend, we've taken a deeper look at the world of substitutions in LaLiga Santander.
While Joao Felix has been substituted in eight of the 10 league games he's played in this season, there are still five players who have been replaced more often.
Getafe's Jason Remeseiro is the most substituted player in the division, having come off in 10 of his 11 starts under Jose Bordalas.
He's closely followed by Sevilla playmaker Oliver Torres (eight in nine starts), Villarreal duo Moi Gomez and Karl Toko Ekambi (both nine in 11 starts), and Athletic Club midfielder Unai Lopez (nine in 11 starts).
The Joao Felix debate
Midfielders and forwards are the most likely players to be substituted, and that's evident among the top teams.
Karim Benzema (six times in 13 starts) is Real Madrid's most substituted player. At Barcelona, Arthur Melo and Frenkie de Jong are joint holders of that title (both five times).
Joao Felix is Atletico's most substituted player and that's not pleasing Los Rojiblancos' supporters.
The untouchables
Away from the goalkeepers and defenders, each club have their own untouchables - the players that are hardly ever taken off.
Saul Niguez (14 matches), Dani Parejo (14) and Martin Odegaard (13) are all examples of this - neither of them have been substituted this season.
The veterans
In terms of the players in the latter stages of their careers, they're often sitting on the bench by the time the final whistle sounds.
Getafe's 37-year-old striker Jorge Molina has been substituted in eight of his 11 starts this season while Real Betis' 38-year-old midfielder Joaquin Sanchez has been taken off in eight of his 10 starts.
Messi's match
Among the superstars, there are mixed results. Antoine Griezmann has been taken off in three of his 12 starts for Barcelona, Luis Suarez has been substituted in three of his 10 stars for the same club and Eden Hazard has been replaced in eight of his 10 matches for Real Madrid.
As for Lionel Messi, he's a different case altogether. The Argentine has been taken off just once - for Ousmane Dembele during Barcelona's home game with Villarreal.

U risk a quick burn out when playing a youngster too much too often. Keep them hungry and angry for game time and they'll get better and better. Cant play everyone like they are Messi and CR7
