LaLiga is revelling in one of its greatest EVER title races - so who wins?

Just as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid try to turn their back on LaLiga and go chasing a new competition, the old domestic tournament is throwing up arguably its greatest ever title run-in.

There are just three points between the top four with five games left.

Barcelona have the game in hand, but it's Sevilla that have the fitness. Real Madrid have the Champions League distraction but is that worse than Atletico Madrid's nagging fear that they have thrown it away after leading for so long?

Sportsmail takes a look at where the points might be won or lost and picks a winner.

Atletico Madrid

Points tally now - 73pts

Elche away. Elche are desperate for the points but they are down the bottom for a reason and this should be three points.

Barcelona away. This is the game that decides the season. It's Luis Suarez against his old club. It's Antoine Griezmann against his old club. Draw.

Home to Real Sociedad. A lot will depend on how fit David Silva is - Real Sociedad have only won two without him. Either way back at the Metropolitano Atletico should win this one.

Home to Osasuna. Playing against a team whose season is over, this ought to be a home win.

Away to Valladolid. The hosts might be playing for safety still. But one last push it should be three points for Simeone's side.

Real Madrid

Home to Osasuna. Jagoba Arasate's side have done well to pull away from trouble. This is a good game for Madrid to have between Chelsea games. Three points.

Home to Sevilla. The other major head to head of the run-in. How Julen Lopetegui would love to put one over Real Madrid. Form and fitness says Sevilla but Madrid have a habit of winning these do-or-die head-to-heads. Madrid win.

Granada away. Granada will be safely ensconced in no-man's land and ought be beatable. Three points.

Athletic away. The Basques' last home game of the season. No fans obviously but still incentive enough to take two points off of Zidane's team. Draw.

Home to Villarreal. Madrid ought to win this one in their own back yard. Villarreal might even have a Europa League final on their minds.

Valencia away. Valencia can't wait for the season to end. This should not be a problem. Away win.

Atletico home. This is the game that decides the season. It's Suarez against his old club. It's Griezmann against his old club. Draw.

Levante home. Levante have nothing to play for. This should be an away win.

Home to Celta. Another game against a team in mid-table, and at home too. Three points.

Eibar away. The hosts will already be relegated. Barcelona could barely wish for a better last fixture. Away win.

Home to Athletic. No reason to believe the title charge will have a problem here. Three points.

The ifs buts and maybes…

Maybe this is being hard on Sevilla who have January signing Papu Gomez on top form in midfield, En-Nesyri scoring goals and Jules Kounde king of the immaculate interception.

They might takes something against Real Madrid but that wouldn't change Barcelona being the eventual winners.

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid on May 8 will decide the title. If Atletico win it they would finish with 88 and win the league. If Barça stop that happening, it's hard to see how they might drop points elsewhere.
