Lamine Yamal's first Champions League campaign

Lamine Yamal continues to break records by leaps and bounds and although he will not be the youngest player to play in the continental competition if he gets a game against Royal Antwerp on Tuesday, he will become the first Azulgrana to do so at that age.

Youssoufa Moukoko made his debut in December 2020 at the age of 16 years and 18 days in a Borussia Dortmund match against Zenit in St Petersburg. Lamine, if he plays against the Belgians, will be 16 years and 68 days old, putting him second all-time, ahead of Céléstine Babayaro, who played for Anderlecht at 16 years and 86 days.

He will break a competition record for precociousness if she scores. The record is held by Ansu Fati, who scored at the San Siro against Inter (1-2) at the age of 17 years and 40 days. That was on 10 December 2019. Lamine has a whole year ahead of him to take the record away from his teammate, now on loan from Barça to Brighton.

It will also be the first Champions League for Fermín López and the third goalkeeper in the squad, Ander Astralaga. Iñaki Peña and Marc Casadó made their debuts in Europe's top competition.

Oriol Romeu has already played in the Champions League. So has Iñigo Martínez. But it has already 'rained' for both of them. The player from Ulldecona, champion of the 2011-2012 season with Chelsea, played the following season, also with the 'blues', one game against Nordsjaelland. It was on 5 December 2012 and his last appearance.

Iñigo Martínez played in the Champions League with Real Sociedad in the 2013-2014 season. His last minutes were in Donetsk, in a 4-0 defeat against Shakhtar, on 27 November 2013.
