Laporta bid farewell to the Barcelona players today and warmly greeted Flick

According to Mundo Deportivo, Laporta was spotted at the training ground on Tuesday. 

Following his formal resignation as Barcelona president on Monday to prepare for his re-election campaign on March 15th, the former Barcelona executive visited the training facility accompanied by interim president Juste and his advisor Masip.

The report stated that Laporta warmly greeted head coach Flick and sporting director Deco, and bid farewell to the entire first-team squad. The former president had originally planned to meet with the team on the day of his resignation, but the team rested on Monday and did not resume training until Tuesday.

Furthermore, Laporta delivered a moving speech to the team, who are currently in a crucial stage of the season and still fighting for various titles. Interim president Rafa Juste also spoke.

At noon local time, after staying for more than three hours, Laporta left the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. On Monday, Laporta and the remaining nine members of the board of directors formally submitted their resignations in accordance with the club's statutes, preparing for the election of a new president. As outgoing president, Laporta conveyed a friendly attitude to the dressing room and coaching staff.

Before submitting his resignation, Laporta spoke about Flick and Deco in a lengthy interview with the club's official media, emphasizing the "stable" and "harmonious" working relationship between the German coach and sporting director over the past two years, and insisting that the team should adhere to a team-building strategy that combines homegrown youth players with external signings.

This meeting took place before the first team's pre-match training session in preparation for this week's Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid. Laporta also spoke with the rest of Barcelona's professional sports teams, bidding farewell to all members and leaders.
