The euphoria of Joan Laporta is the euphoria of all Barcelona fans after the Supercopa win, the first trophy of the season and the first of the 'Xavi era'. The Barça president spoke to RAC1 as soon as he landed at El-Prat with the team.

Laporta highlighted the good play of the team and the importance of the youngest players winning a title, because "in addition to having great talent, they are magnificent kids and very big Barça fans."

He also gave an update on Alejandro Balde's future, with the left-back's current deal due to expire in 2024.

"It's going well, we already fixed something with his agent, [Jorge] Mendes, and at the end of the season, once we have the [financial] fair play room, we will renew his deal," Laporta said.

Regarding Gavi's registration with the first team, he added that "at Barça we will do what we have to do and he will also be registered at the end of the season."

The Barça chief also revealed the conversation he had with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez at the end of the final: "He told me that we had played very well, we talked about the spectacle that Barça-Madrid represents. It is very important for the two clubs and for football. The president of Madrid has always been very elegant, both in victory and defeat."
