According to the latest report from Cadena SER journalist Santi Ovalle, Laporta has taken over the Alvarez transfer and plans to make a new offer of 130 million euros, but Atletico Madrid insists it will not negotiate.
Reportedly, Barcelona will not be overly insistent on signing a center forward; their preferred player is Alvarez, and the 100 million euro offer (payable in six installments) will expire at the end of this month. The club will continue to try and sign him, but believes there are not many alternatives with his characteristics.
Flick wants a forward who can link up play, not just a finisher, and Alvarez is his ideal candidate. Alemany did not respond to Deco's formal offer, so Laporta took over the deal, contacting Gil Marín directly.
Alemany and Deco had no connection, and this offer was shelved without approval from superiors. Barcelona hopes to open high-level negotiation channels and insists on a new offer of approximately 130 million euros, but Atletico Madrid sources maintain that they will not negotiate for Alvarez.
Barcelona's sporting management explored various options to strengthen the center-back position. Bastoni was their first choice, but Flick felt he was not worth a significant investment. He considers Gerard Martín a world-class center-back, which is why Flick wants to focus all his energy on signing a forward.
They are closely monitoring developments in case Araujo leaves. Araujo might leave if his playing time is reduced after talking with Flick. However, sources close to the player indicate that Araujo has not considered this situation and has clearly stated his desire to stay at Barcelona.
High-caliber players like Romero are certainly valued, but their salaries do not fit the club's budget; although Laporte performed well in the World Cup, the club believes a seven-game tournament is very different from a full season.
So far, Raphinha has not shown any desire to leave. If he genuinely wants to depart, the club will approve his request like any other player, but Barcelona will still have Raphinha next season, and no other team has made an offer for him yet.
The situation with Ferran Torres is exactly the same: the club wants him to stay and will offer him a contract extension in September. If the player wishes to leave the club, he must actively request it, which he has not done so far.

Why on earth would Barca even consider selling Raphina? He is a top talent even at the high levels of Barça. Letting him go would be most foolish.

araujo, casado and balde needs to be sold. We need a better left back than balde. We also need a left footed centre back and a forward who can also play as false 9
yes but with casado leaving and de jong injuries we want good defensive midfielder in low price because we have so many attacking midfielders but we proper defence midfielder like rodri, kante, casemiro or any other in low budget

I prefer raphina to Alvarez anyday. I can't buy Alvarez for such amount and we'll complain that he's not scoring more goals. to mw it's a waste of money. why not spend same amount on osimhen or halaand? we'll have ferran Torres upgrade with goal conversion. Torres will do better than him too.
