Gianluca Di Marzio claims Lazio did reject a significant bid from Real Madrid for midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic last summer.
Lazio chief Claudio Lotito drew ridicule earlier in the week for his boast that he turned down an offer of €160m for Milinkovic-Savic.
However, Di Marzio told Sky Sport Italia on Thursday evening that the President did knock back a ‘huge’ proposal from Madrid.
Although the exact figure is not known, the transfer expert maintains it was the ‘highest’ bid that the Aquile received.

This reminds me of Belotti's situation. Torino rejected bid after bid for him. At the end, they kept him and would be lucky to fetch half of what they were being offered. "Torino rejected bid after bid for him." So they said... probably around half the amount they quoted, and not from Real, Barca, AM, and top 4 in England etc.

A Lazio fan can answer better but he started off really slow but has picked it up recently - still not enough for a 160m. I saw a quote though that he rejected a 100m Euro bid which makes much more sense, I could see that. I highly doubt it was 160 because there’s no way SMS’ value would go higher - and at that price I think it’d be worth to sell and reinvest in other positions.

Yep. It doesn't even make sense to keep ahold of him to increase his value either, €160m is right at the upper end of what any club will pay for a player so even if he had an incredible season and looked like the best in the world in his position, you wouldn't be able to sell him for much more than that.
