Levante earned hard-fought 2-1 win over struggling Leganes

Levante defeat Leganés 1-2 on Saturday at Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Leganés faced the match with a desire to make up their league after losing 1-0 against Granada while Levante had to settle for a draw in the last match played of the competition. As of today, Leganés is 20th in the LaLiga, having garnered 2 points from 8 matches, while Levante sits at 9th with 11 points after playing a total of 8 matches.

The first half of the game started in favour of Levante, with a goal from Roger Martí just before the end of the 45 minutes, finalising the first half with a 0-1.

The second half started favourably for Levante, thanks to a good early goal from José Campaña in the 49th minute. However, Leganés 76 minutes in the game hit back thanks to a goal from Martin Braithwaite, which saw the second half to a 1-2.

At the end of the match, both teams made 3 substitutions each. For Leganés Martin Braithwaite, José Arnaiz and Kevin Rodrigues came on for Óscar, Aitor Ruibal and Dimitrios Siovas, while Levante brought on Gonzalo Melero, Rubén Rochina and Óscar Duarte to replace Nikola Vukcevic, José Campaña and Sergio León.

The referee booked Recio, Óscar and Jonathan Silva from Leganés, while for Levante Nikola Vukcevic, Jorge Miramón, Sergio León, Roger Martí and Rubén Vezo saw a yellow card as well.

Levante and Leganés will play at away stadium against Sevilla and Getafe respectively.
