Lewandowski eyes Messi’s 40-opponents UCL record against Copenhagen

Barcelona will host Copenhagen in their 8th match of the UEFA Champions League group stage at home.

According to statistics, Robert Lewandowski has yet to score against Copenhagen, though he found the net against Slavia Praha in previous encounters. He has scored against 39 different opponents in the UEFA Champions League, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo's tally of 38. He is now just one goal away from equaling Lionel Messi's record of 40.

His goal against Slavia Praha also marked his 15th consecutive season scoring in the Champions League. He has scored 106 goals in 139 Champions League appearances, with a scoring rate of 0.76 goals per game.

In Barcelona's all-time Champions League scoring rankings, Lionel Messi tops the list with 129 goals. Lewandowski has netted 20 goals for Barça in the competition, tying with Luis Enrique. He ranks behind Luis Suárez and Rivaldo, who both have 25 goals, as well as Neymar and Patrick Kluivert, who both have 21 goals.
