Former Arsenal and Barcelona star Thierry Henry has heaped praise on his former team-mate Lionel Messi for the way he confuses defenders and his good form.
The 35-year-old has been in blistering hot form for PSG so far this campaign, notching 12 goals and adding a further 13 assists in just 17 appearances, meaning he has been the most effective player in Europe.
The Argentina international is producing his best run of displays since joining the French giants from Barcelona back in the summer of 2021 after struggling during his first season in France.
Henry has explained how he believes the superstar forward continues to confuse defenders in the later stages of his career after impressing once again in PSG's 4-3 victory over Troyes on Saturday.
'Most defenders get confused because Messi always seems less interested at the start of games and then he changes the pace,' Henry told El Futbolero US.
'I've played with him a couple of years, and this season, Messi is in frightening form.'
Messi has hit top form heading into the 2022 Qatar World Cup, having scored seven goals in Ligue 1, netting four goals in just four Champions League matches, while also bagging nine goals in his last three international games for Argentina.
Messi remains in contract at PSG until next summer but speculation has continued to rage over his future should he not sign a new deal with the French giants.
The forward has been linked with a fairytale return to Barcelona, but it has also been previously reported by The Athletic that secret talks have been ongoing for several months between his representatives and those of Inter Miami, who appear to be leading the chase for his highly-coveted signature.
