Sevilla take on Real Madrid on Sunday and Julen Lopetegui has pointed out that facing his former team doesn't give him extra motivation to win the game.
The 53-year-old explained that he always focuses on the good moments from his previous spells as a coach.
"There is no room for extra motivation when you coach Sevilla, something I can hopefully do for many years," he said at a press conference on Saturday.
"There are three points at stake and that is enough motivation, even if we know the impact of facing Real Madrid.
"I always have a very good memory of all the clubs where I have been, as I stay with the positive.
"I try to be responsible and ambitious, and tomorrow will be no exception.
"The central characters are the players, not the coaches."
Sevilla returned back to Spain after a long trip from Azerbaijan, where they beat Qarabag 3-0 in their Europa League opener, and Lopetegui didn't rule out rotating his team ahead of the game against Los Blancos.
"We are well, recovering from all that has happened with the game and the trip, and we are focused on Sunday," he added.
"This is going very fast and we are focused on resting well.
"This afternoon we will train to prepare for the game.
"It is important that the players are prepared for when the whistle sounds, because we are going to require everyone's presence.
"They train well and have a good mentality.
"The more problems the coach has, because there are many available to choose from, the better."
The Andalusian side top the LaLiga Santander table and the former Spain coach made clear that his team should keep their game-by-game mentality throughout the season.
"I do not focus on what I hope or don't hope for, but on the day to day and on preparing each game well," he noted.
"We look at the very short term.
"It is the best way of using the energy we have as coaches.
"We know that in front of us there is an extraordinary team, with spectacular talent, that will force us to give our best version.
"I would like to see a Sevilla side that knows how to attack and defend well.
"We want the three points and we will go for the three points."

Sell useless players like Nacho, Vazquez, Asensio, Mariano, Courtois, James, Isco ; Sell legends (because of age) Modric, Marcelo, Benzema, Kroos Carvajal etc. Bring fresh blood & Hungry players like a quality CB like Koulibaly/Van Dyke, a quality CDM, Mbappe, a quality goalkeeper like Alison, Van der Beek, Errikson, Mane/ Harry Kane ; Bring Ceballos, Kubo, Odegaard, Hakimi, Regulion, Lunin etc. from Loan; Sack ZZ & bring Aggressive manager like Special One Mourinho who knows how to defend & win at any cost also has Plan A, B,C then only RMs sinking ship can survive and they can continue winning somethin

Sevilla will destroy Madrid surely in their own backyard but after being destroyed, I hope Real Madrid will understand their internal problems and not to rebuff their coach.
