Lucas Vazquez: We don't care the critism because we come here to win

After Real Madrid reached the Club World Cup final once again with a win over Kashima Antlers, Lucas Vazquez insisted that criticism of the club doesn't faze the players.

A Gareth Bale hat-trick fired Los Blancos past the Asian champions to set up a final meeting with Al Ain.

It was a game full of positives for Real, which hasn't always been the case lately, leading to criticism of the side.

"The first game of any tournament is complicated because nobody will make it easy for you," he told reporters afterwards.

"The games need your maximum work and focus until the end of the 90 minutes.

"What people say about this competition doesn't matter to us because we have came here to win it and will give this competition the importance and focus it deserves.

"Are we more comfortable when people write us off? I wouldn't say that we are comfortable no, but we are used to it."

The winger also admitted that he was surprised to see River Plate fall in their semi-final which will now see Real take on Al Ain instead, while highlighting how happy he is to be given a regular run in the side under Santiago Solari.

"We thought that the final against River would happen but football is strange and you never know what will happen," he added.

"It just shows that you if you don't give the game or an opponent the respect they deserve, then you'll get a surprise.

"The fact that the coach also has confidence in me is nice. He's giving me opportunities and I try to repay his confidence each week with hard work."
