Lucas Vazquez is one of Sergio Ramos' best friends in the Real Madrid dressing room, and the versatile Galician has been hit particularly hard by the news that the defender would leave this month.
Ramos' contract is up on June 30 and it has been confirmed that no agreement has been reached, so he will depart this summer on a free transfer.
"I was hoping that this day wouldn't come," Lucas wrote in a post on Instagram on Thursday. "I'm sure that I'm not wrong in saying that we all lose today.
"I personally lose sharing and enjoying my day-to-day work with a real friend, one who received me like a brother from the first day we met in a dressing room that is imposing at first.
"Without you, my path would have been completely different. But why think about that, the reality is that the few years we've spent together will always remain in my memory. The very good moments, the other not so good moments, all of the successes that cannot be taken away from us.
"On the pitch, in the dressing room, we're losing one of our best warriors, the best companion in battle, the best captain in the club's history.
"I won't dwell any more. Everyone knows who you are. See you soon, I'm going to miss you, we're going to miss you. I'm sure our paths will meet again soon.

The man is saying the truth. This has nothing to do with disrespect. Ramos played himself hardball with a club that is bigger than him and it came back to haunt him. He wasn't advised properly and when the club signed Alaba as backup, there was no going back to its initial offer to him.
