Madness at Paris airport as PSG fans await Messi... and he's still in Barcelona

Lionel Messi hasn't even arrived in Paris yet and the fanfare has already hit chaotic levels.

Paris Saint-Germain are set to sign the world's greatest player on a free transfer, and his arrival in the French capital is imminent in order to finalise his move.

As a result, PSG fans are understandably excited and allowed themselves to fall victims to a hoax on Sunday night. Thousands gathered at Le Bourget airport due to rumours that the Argentine was on his way on Sunday evening, but the player's plan is to fly to Paris on either Monday or Tuesday.

Messi acknowledged in his press conference on Sunday that a move to the Parc des Princes was a possibility, though he also said that he had received offers from several clubs and that nothing had been decided by noon on Sunday.

Monday will be a significant day in deciding what happens, but his arrival in France appears imminent. Whenever he lands, he's going to be given an enormous reception.
