Man City 6-1 Huddersfield: Hat-trick hero Aguero seals huge win as David Silva nets golazo

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick to help Man City thrash Huddersfield 6-1 as David Silva marked his 250th EPL game with a stunning free-kick goal.

Having defended so stoutly so far. Huddersfield are undone by the simplest goal. Ederson goes route one from a goal kick after Sibiri had shot over for Huddersfield, and with no danger of being offside Aguero ghosts in behind Billing from his long ball. 

Hamer comes off his line but Aguero shows real class to chip the Huddersfield goalkeeper from outside the box.

Mendy beats a couple of players in a foot race before exchanging passes with Jesus. He's tackled, but the ball falls kindly for the Brazilian and he lashes it in at the near post, although Hamer was slow to dive and should have got something on it.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Look away Ben Hamer. Bernard Mendy gets away down the left as he has many times this afternoon, and hits a low cross into the middle with some real pace on it. Hamer doesn't deal with it well though, drops it at the feet of Aguero and the little Argentinian slots into the net after taking a touch.

Huddersfield have... well, could you call it a lifeline? It's certainly an annoyance for Manchester City, whose clean sheet disappears in a puff of smoke.

Billing launches a throw-in long from the right and Mounie gets a flick-on in the box, allowing Stankovic - making his first appearance in more than a year - to score from close-range.

David Silva, the Spanish magician, scores a fourth with a wave of his wand into the top corner. He takes a City free-kick about 25 yards out, just right of centre, and bends it over the wall and inside the near post with a beautiful curled finish. Tremendous goal.

57' OFF THE POST! Aguero so close to sealing hat-trick

Huddersfield have just given up the ghost here. Aguero drives forward from deep and there's no attempt to close him down, so from 25 yards he smacks the post with a great drive which comes so close to sealing his hat-trick.

And there's the hat-trick! Another assist from Mendy, another finish from Aguero. This is getting a bit too predictable. A wonderful ball in from the left takes Kongolo out of the game and curls back in for Aguero to jump and side-foot it in from six yards. Lovely.

Just when you think things can't get any worse for Huddersfield. Jesus sees Sane on the overlap down the left and plays him in with a through-ball, he gets into the box and although Hamer saves his shot, the rebound strikes Kongolo four yards out and ends in the bottom corner.

Sergio Aguero registered his 13th hat-trick for Manchester City as the reigning Premier League champions showed they were not missing Kevin De Bruyne in a 6-1 thrashing of Huddersfield Town.

Aguero got City's first, third and fifth goals, while Gabriel Jesus and David Silva, on his 250th Premier League appearance, also beat Huddersfield goalkeeper Ben Hamer.

Terence Kongolo's own goal capped a convincing City victory which was only slightly spoiled by Jon Stankovic's effort for the visitors just before half-time.

It was a reminder from City and Aguero that they can cope without Belgian playmaker De Bruyne, who suffered a knee injury earlier this week that could rule him out for up to three months.
