Man City edge closer to completing £5.5m deal for 18-year-old Ante Palaversa

Manchester City are completing a £5.5million deal for Ante Palaversa from Hajduk Split.

The 18-year-old midfielder will return to Croatia on loan until December as part of the deal.

Palaversa departed from the Split airport on Monday with his father Ivan and manager Ante Pesa to fly to Manchester.

Palaversa will not be involved with City this season as they try to react to their defeat to Newcastle.

The champions are four points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand, after losing to a late Matt Ritchie penalty on Tuesday.

Jurgen Klopp's side face Leicester on Wednesday and could go seven points clear at the top.
