Manchester United are reportedly set to break the British transfer record for Under 16 players with the captures of Darren Fletcher's sons from Manchester City.
Fletcher was part of United's dominant success under Sir Alex Ferguson and has carved out for a career for himself behind-the-scenes after being appointed technical director at Old Trafford two years ago.
Meanwhile, his two sons Jack and Tyler have progressed through the youth ranks at United's cross-city rivals, but are expected to make imminent moves to the red half of Manchester.
The popular Etihad pair play in central midfield like their dad and have become prized members of City's academy set-up having been identified as bright talents for the future.
United are locked in talks with City as they attempt to thrash out a deal for the pair and are willing to smash the British U16 transfer record to do so, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Theo Walcott's move to Arsenal from Southampton as a 16-year-old is the current transfer record after the Gunners previously forked out £9.1m after paying an initial £5m.
Fletcher snr, who played over 300 games for United and won 10 major trophies with the club, is believed to be driving the effort to bring them to the red half of Manchester.
The youngsters are both currently on schoolboy deals, but will be eligible for their first professional contracts with United poised to snap them up when they turn 17 on March next year.
United have been keeping an eye on the pair given their prestigious academy history of producing top talents, while preliminary talks for a transfer are believed to have taken place in the past week.
City's academy have won four U18 and three U16 titles in the past four seasons, with United lagging behind after falling behind their rivals.

Erik Ten Hag should give play time to Academy Youngsters who had been loaned to other clubs from different leagues, and, those Academy Youngsters who had been on the bench since the beginning of last season...
