Manchester United have earmarked Julian Nagelsmann as a future Old Trafford manager.

Sportsmail has learned United have begun doing their groundwork on RB Leipzig’s highly-rated young boss Nagelsmann.
Nagelsmann is just 32 but already on his second top-flight job in Germany and earning admirers at struggling Premier League giants United.
While pressure is building on current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now, Sportsmail understands United currently have Nagelsmann down as one to watch for further down the line. But the process of gathering information on him is well underway.
Nagelsmann eventually turned to coaching after seeing his playing career at Augsburg cut short by injury aged 20.
The promise he quickly showed as a coach earned him the nickname ‘Baby Mourinho.’ Nagelsmann became the youngest manager in Bundesliga history when he was appointed by Hoffenheim at 28.

He led them from second bottom to well clear of safety after taking over in February 2016, fourth and into the Champions League for the first time in his first full campaign the following year and then third in 2017/18.
Having been knocked out in the play-offs by Liverpool in 2017-18, their third-placed league finish earned Hoffenheim a Champions League group stage place for the first time ever.
Nagelsmann’s managerial rise continued when he took over at RB Leipzig in June.
Leipzig are currently fifth in the Bundesliga, just two points off early-season leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.
Nagelsmann is tied to Leipzig until 2023 and United plan to continue doing their due diligence on one of European football’s rising managerial stars as his career develops.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer is feeling the heat after overseeing United’s worse start to a season in 30 years.
And the Norwegian fears a big defeat in his side’s next outing after the international break at home to Liverpool could leave him facing the chop.

Lyon - 9 games, 9 points, Fired their manager. Ac Milan - 7 games, 9 points, Fired their manager. Man Utd - 8 games, 9 points, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still drinking tea with Woodward and The Glazers. Man Utd has become a small club with zero ambitions.

I would suggest from 1 Manager to a next Klopp would ask his troops not to go so hard on United and he might just save Ole' s job. Wat do u think Afers

It's the board that need sacking. And the players keep our back line and keeper and get rid of everyone else and sign players who will fight for the club

biggest mistake United made was to not have sold Pogba to Real Madrid (for 120-150€). their current midfield is probably the worst they've ever had. they could've used that money on new players.

I hate hearing Fans saying that coach is not a problem! A good coach must be a good manager. A good coach should be able to use the scarce resources united have to achieve results! Are we all saying Wolves, Newcastle, bunley Leicester etc are richer than Man Utd? No, but those managers in those clubs are able to utilize the little they have. In United, some coaches believe they can spend anyhow to rival Man City but end up wasting the available scare resources! Can we recall how much United coaches have wasted for the last four seasons? Now, the mistake Ole made was that, he sold out key united players. He got the defense right but failed in the midfield and forward. He should have allowed Lukaku and Herera to stay. Just add one midfielder to the squad like Bruno! As long as he has failed to deliver, he has breached the contractual agreement and what next? Fired!

changing managers won't help. Ole tried he's best and proved he's worthiness for the job. players are a real problem and Woodward. he can't let money out yo buy first class players.. you sell out Lukaku and fail to bring in a better striker. we are a mediocre team without passion. the players have no intensity,no desire to win and they all look bored. sack Woodward bring in Van Da sar. let's give him time. he has the heart for the team. every manager brought in a team brings in he's own system of play and coping up with that is quite challenging and when the players feel they are almost to their abilities, the manager is sacked. having players who think they are bigger than the club is the worst thing ever in this century. Pogba can do anything to turn the team around, but he's too boyish and loves camera and hair styling better than focus on the ball. Look at James he's first three games..he was on fire, but has no other winger. letting Herrera leave OT wasn't good we needed a good midfielder like Bruno Fernandez,we need fast and quick running wingers. we get ride of Young. the defence looks a bit compact but our striking force is a menace. I stand with ole, let's open our treasury and bring more good players.

Think there is one thing many football fans here are waiting... just curious Why JM keep quiet for so long? What is JM waiting? Let’s guess... Probably JM will speak out only after Liverpool match on 20 October, cos he want to see whether Ole follow his footsteps and be sacked? Any special comments from the special one? JM are you there?

even if you bring the best Manager it will not work because Mr ED is a poor CEO.you can not plant soyabeans inorder to harvest maize it's very very impossible. Let the current manager scout the troops he wants then it will be back to MANUNITED.

🤔 take it easy and let’s stick with Ole and continue the building we’ve started changing managers will take us back again rebuilding is a process not in one transfer but a few couple of transfers changing managers means reinvestment

As long as Woodward is at United it doesn’t matter how good a manager is Woodward will destroy him as he has with others.
