Manchester United learn Goncalo Ramos asking price and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly targeting a move for Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos in the summer as they look to address their striker problem.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag only has Anthony Martial as an out-and-out centre forward at the club. United's overall lack of goals has cost them on occasion so far this season and the Reds' boss has made it no secret that they need to address this issue.

According to reports in Portugal, United are looking at Ramos as a potential option in the summer. The forward replaced Ronaldo in the Portugal squad on Tuesday night and scored a hat-trick as they beat Switzerland 6-1.

So far this season, the 21-year-old has scored 14 goals for his Portuguese club. However, the ball is firmly in Benfica's court with Ramos under contract until 2026 and a massive €120m release clause in the striker's contract.

Reports from Jornal de Noticias add that Benfica are unwilling to negotiate below that release clause at present. Elsewhere, it is reported that United may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Joao Felix. The Atletico Madrid man is reported to be a target for the Reds after becoming unsettled in the Spanish capital.

Plenty of clubs have since been linked with Felix but according to journalist Kerry Hau at Sport1, Bayern Munich are not a club who are in the running. "Bayern are no longer interested in Joao Felix, contrary to recent reports in Spain," Hau explained.

"The Portuguese striker was an option for Bayern last summer. Hasan Salihamidzic [Bayern Munich's sporting director] was in contact with Atletico, but was turned down by the Spanish club. Felix is no longer an issue at Bayern."
