Marc-Andre ter Stegen continues to be absent from team training

The goalkeeper continued training in the gym with specific exercises during the second pre-season training session.

Hansi Flick led the first of two training sessions held today at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despí: the first session started at 9:30 a.m. and the second will take place at 6:00 p.m. Just like yesterday, when the Barça players took to the pitch for the first time, Ter Stegen also stayed away from the group and trained in the gym.

Last Monday afternoon, the first training session of the 2025/26 pre-season took place with the 36 players who underwent medical tests on Sunday, except for Marc-André ter Stegen, who, according to the club, "worked away from the group doing exercises in the gym". According to SPORT's information, the reason is related to some minor discomfort that has led him to do specific work.

Along with the German goalkeeper, Dani Rodríguez was another player called up for the start of this pre-season who also did not take to the pitch. It should be remembered that the forward, formed in La Masia, is still recovering from a dislocated right shoulder he suffered at the beginning of May, precisely during his first-team debut against Valladolid.

Héctor Fort and Gerard Martín, still without medical clearance, remain under Hansi Flick's orders. The former underwent nasal septum surgery "to solve the respiratory problems and nasal congestion that have affected him during this season"; the latter suffered a dislocation of the fifth metacarpal of his right hand during the Under-21 European Championship.
