Marcelo Lins Martins: Vinicius can be the new Neymar

Marcelo Lins Martins, the renowned academy instructor with the Brazilian football federation and a former fitness coach at Bayern Munich, has spoken about Vinicius and has claimed he can reach the heights of Neymar.

"Vinicius is at Real Madrid, he's 19 and he's very young," the Brazilian football expert told MARCA Claro at the Youth Football Development Summit.

"If there is patience with him and if work is done with no rush then he is a player who can be the new Neymar.

"Gabriel Jesus at Manchester City also has a lot of potential, while here in Brazil there are players who people like such as Gabriel Henrique and Gabigol at Flamengo.

"If work is done well at youth development level then we'll see more players come through.

"Brazil has always had some of the best players in the world, but this hasn't been the case for a few years because Europe has taken a big step forward when it comes to youth development. Brazil and Latin America are still in this process."

For Marcelo Lins Martins, there is no doubt that Neymar is still the best Brazilian talent right now.

"I think Neymar is the best Brazilian player, he's a complete player," he explained.

"He's someone who knows how to improvise and he has great skills. He is good at one-on-one situations, at finishing and at assisting. So, he's a very good player.

"I think he can still mature a little more. He can still grow."
