When discussing past Ballon d'Or winners, Mbappé evaluated football legends such as Ronaldo, Messi, Maradona, Ronaldinho, Henry, and Zidane one by one. He stated that Henry was his inspiration in his youth, and Zidane was the supreme role model for the French.

Ronaldo (2017)

Mbappé: The first... yes, he is the king. The king of Madrid, he is the king.

Didier Drogba (2004)

Mbappé: Didier... Didier is a force, pure force of nature. A great scorer. I have great respect for him.

Diego Maradona (1986)

Mbappé: Diego... a genius, Diego is an out-and-out genius. He is a football legend.

Eric Cantona (1994)

Mbappé: Ah, Eric Cantona! He's a character with immense personality. He has been a major figure in world football. And as Frenchmen, we will always support him.

George Weah (1995)

Mbappé: George Weah... George Weah is also a top-tier striker, truly a superstar. He played for many big clubs, so...

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (1981)

Mbappé: Oh... Rummenigge? He changed so much later! I only recognize him as he is now, haha! But he is a Bayern legend, absolutely a legend. Yes, a very influential player.

Messi (2011)

Mbappé: Leo... Leo is unique. He is an unparalleled player. Everyone knows everything he has contributed to football. I had the privilege of playing alongside him, so this... is definitely a top-tier player.

Marco van Basten (1989)

Mbappé: Van Basten... Van Basten was also like that, incredibly elegant in his style of play. He was one of the earliest representatives of forwards whose play was a pleasure to watch. I regret not being able to see him play in person, but the video footage already speaks for itself. He was a very elegant player on the field.

Michel Platini (1985)

Mbappé: Platini... For us French, I think he was truly the first iconic figure in French football. He won the European Championship, securing France's first European Championship title. So... I have great respect for him too.

Rivaldo (1999)

Mbappé: Rivaldo... he was a member of the Brazilian golden generation. This is the magic of Samba, the extraordinary magic of Brazilian football. That country has captivated countless people with the dream of football, and therefore these players are highly respected by us.

Roberto Baggio (1993)

Mbappé: Roberto Baggio... there are so many legends here, so many legendary predecessors! Also a legend of his era. He won many honors and possessed extraordinary technical skills. Although I never saw these players play in person, I have watched many videos and many classic matches. So, it's always wonderful to appreciate the brilliance of top superstars from other generations.

Romário (1994)

Mbappé: Romário... a true killer, a pure super striker. As a forward responsible for scoring goals, this resonates especially with me. He always had a keen eye for goal and always found a way to put the ball in the net. And in the world of football, that is precisely the hardest thing to do.

Ronaldinho (2005)

Mbappé: Ronaldinho... he is a deserved magician on the pitch. A man who mesmerized everyone. I think there aren't many players whom everyone unanimously loves without controversy, and he is one of those players whom everyone can't help but love. I truly have great respect for him.

Ronaldo (1997)

Mbappé: Ah, Ronaldo! Speaking of Brazilian stars, this is the symbol of Brazil... Ronaldo is R9, synonymous with the ultimate striker. He is the person who truly changed the definition of a striker. Therefore, there is only endless admiration and respect for him.

Thierry Henry (2003)

Mbappé: Titi! Titi is... Titi is my source of inspiration. He inspired me when I was young. Now I have the good fortune to know him and interact with him. It is always an honor to stand alongside such a great person. I think it is very beneficial to be able to encounter and experience this greatness in daily life.

Zinedine Zidane (1998)

Mbappé: I don't know whether to call him Zizou or coach now, haha! He is a true benchmark. For us French, he is the supreme role model. Everything he has achieved... I think there's no need to use more words to describe it.
