Real Madrid have strengthened their squad for next season with a talented young French international. It's not Kylian Mbappe, as many had hoped, but the Paris Saint-Germain star has applauded his compatriot's move.
While Los Blancos were desperate to land Mbappe himself this summer, it is the forward's turn to accept defeat after Aurelian Tchouameni opted for Madrid instead of joining him in Paris.
Tchouameni, 22, had his heart set on moving to Real Madrid and that made a key difference as other clubs, including PSG and Liverpool, tried to woo him.
The midfielder got his way, to the delight of Madridistas worldwide, and international teammate Mbappe took the news well, even applauding his fellow Frenchman.
Tchouameni, who impressed at his first Madrid press conference by speaking in Spanish, posted, also in Spanish, and English, his delight at officially joining Los Merengues on Instagram.
Various footballers were among those who commented, and Mbappe showed his support by leaving two applauding emoticons.
"I can't wait to join the team and take part in the history we'll make," wrote Tchouameni.
The midfielder will officially become a Real Madrid player on July 1, signing a six-year deal after Los Blancos agreed a fee with Monaco which could rise to 100 million euros.

I only wish Madrid fans will accept his decision and move on , I really don't see the reasons they always insult him because he reject Madrid, Aureline touamanie also rejected PSG and sign for Madrid yet PSG fans are not insulting him , does this mean mbappe is bigger than Madrid ?

Do you guys know why we Madrid fans will never like Mbappe again (even if he, in turn, joins Madrid in the future)? Okay, let me tell you. Mbappe himself was grumbling in an interview in 2019 that PSG kept him as a prisoner against his wishes. Throughout that year, he kept sending subtle hints to Real Madrid. He was releasing comic books, giving interviews that Real Madrid was his dream club. After all the nonsense, when Madrid opened their arms to accept him, he turned us down. He was toying with our club for all this while. He made the Madridista's dream only to crush with such a disappointment, and I'm pretty sure many of you share the same views. We, as Madridistas, have supported him for such a long time. For heaven's sake, Mbappe was given a standing ovation by a section of Madridistas when he played at the Bernabéu this year. Even after he scored the winning goal at PSG, we were celebrating as if it was a win for Madrid. And after all of this, his coming up with this ultimate act of betrayal wasn't expected. I don't know about you, but certainly, I have lost respect for Kylian for hurting the image of my club. There were so many ways in which he could have handled the situation. Instead, he made Real Madrid believe that they could count on him. Trusting his words, they didn't show any interest in the Haaland transfer. He even visited Madrid a week before to grab the attention of the newspapers. Honestly, Mbappe knew exactly what he was doing. He was aware of what impact his moves were going to have. It only added more uncertainty to the entire saga. He has used Real Madrid as leverage to get a better deal out of PSG. There can't be any other reason for such an immature way of handling the entire saga. Then if that was not enough, he had the nerve to say that he would be Real Madrid's first supporter in the UCL final. I'm happy with the way Florentino Perez responded in his interview after the UCL win. Real Madrid is more significant than any player.
