Italian sports papers named Alex Meret MOTM in Napoli-Juventus and hit out at Giorgio Chiellini who ‘forgot about VAR.’
Meret replaced David Ospina who picked up an injury in the warm-up and made “four crucial saves,” according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Those to deny Morata and Ronaldo from point-blank range were impressive,” the pink paper wrote.
“He put his hands and his feet on Napoli’s victory,” wrote Il Corriere dello Sport.
Giorgio Chiellini and Cristiano Ronaldo were among the worst players on the pitch, according to Italia media.
La Gazzetta dello Sport and Il Corriere dello Sport rated the Italian defender and the Portuguese striker 5/10, while CR7 was rated 6.5 by Tuttosport.
Chiellini jumped with his arm on Amir Rrahmani’s face and VAR did consider it a foul with Lorenzo Insigne who converted the spot-kick in the first half to allow Napoli snatch three points.
“Chiellini forgot about the ‘Big Brother’ and committed a mistake that cost Juve the victory,” wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Federico Bernardeschi was also among Juventus’ most disappointing players, while Federico Chiesa was the best Bianconero at the Stadio Maradona, according to Italian sports papers.

it is funny. they are attacking AF!!. did Juve score? No. did CR7 score? no. CR7 is all about goals. if he did not score, then he's a flop. this is a player that cannot create chances, cannot dribble, cannot make an intelligent pass or key passes! it is all goals. if he had scored, he would be hailed.
Take the facts in. AF LITERALLY HAVE AN APP NAMED ALL FOOTBALL BARCA NEWS. CAN U PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT HOW A PERSON WHO GOT MOST KEY PASSES, SHOT, SHOTS ON TARGET AND OTHER THINGS BE A FLOP??? RONALDO GOT 2ND BEST RATINGS. IN THE MATCH FROM AF, BUT STILL HE IS A FLOP? IF YOU TAKE THIS FROM A NORMAL PERSON'S PERSPECTIVE THEY WILL DEFINETLY BE MAD. NOW DON'T COME HERE AND ASK THE JUVE FANS THAT WHY THEY ARE MAD AS YOU CLEARLY HAVE NO BRAIN CELLS LEFT

Ronaldo flop... He was the best Juve player on the pitch after Meret who was outstanding. Without the stupid slap from Chiellini, the game would be different.
