Memphis Depay's Barcelona departure moves closer

Memphis Depay's future is not yet decided, but at the moment he is more out than in at Barcelona.

Juventus have been sending messages to the player and Barcelona in the past few days, and in the last few hours they have intensified their contacts.

Juventus want Barcelona to terminate his contract and allow him to leave on a free transfer, though.

Memphis knows that he is not going to have many minutes in Xavi's new project, with the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and the renewal of Ousmane Dembele, which is why he is looking favourably on Barcelona's invitation to change scenery and leave the Camp Nou.

His departure, moreover, would save a significant amount of money for the club's coffers and considerably alleviate the tight wage bill. He is a long-awaited departure in the offices.

Where is Memphis Depay moving to?

The Dutch international has had several offers this summer, but Juventus have been firmer than others in their interest.

The striker was clear, moreover, that if he left Barcelona it would be for a big club.

Juventus do not want to pay a transfer fee for a player who has one year left on his contract and who they know has been invited to leave his current club.

They are asking for a termination, which would also benefit the player because he would have a transfer bonus.

It is not ruled out that Barcelona will keep some kind of clause in the transfer to ensure future income from the Dutchman, who has played 38 games and scored 13 goals in the season he has been there after arriving on another free transfer.
