The Argentina forward claimed another one to add to his ever-growing collection on Wednesday night as Barcelona beat Lyon to book their spot in the Champions League quarter-final for their 12th consecutive season.
The victory was his 476th in a Barcelona shirt, equalling the club record held by Xavi.
After his accomplishment the club took a look back through the archives and revealed an incredible stat about Messi that perhaps holds even more significance.
During his 15-year period in the first team, Messi has faced 85 different opponents and has been on the winning side against 84 of those at one time or another.
Surprisingly, the only team Messi never managed to beat was UDA Gramenet, who now play in the Segunda Catalana division.
Messi started the match as Barcelona and Gramenet went head-to-head in the Copa del Rey during the 2004-05 season.
Gramenet, who at the time were playing in the Segunda Division B, managed to cause a huge upset by winning the match 1-0.
Messi has never faced them since and so they remain the only team to defy him.

By beating Lyon on Wednesday, Messi also equalled Xavi's record of 476 wins with Barcelona in much quicker time, doing it in 673 games with a win ratio of 71 per cent in comparison to the Spaniard's 767 matches.
