Lionel Messi is at the forefront of the Leo Messi Foundation, and the organisation founded by the Barcelona icon is continuing in its fight against childhood cancer.
November 26 will see the foundation celebrate the second edition of the ProAm Golf Tournament, with all funds raised going to the Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, which is the leading paediatric cancer centre in Barcelona.
It also doubles as the largest research centre of its type in Europe, with the Argentine captain the driving force behind it.
In 2018, 10,000 euros were raised with the help of more than 90 participants, and the reception was so good that even more people are expected to take part in 2019.
The tournament will be played at the Vallromanes Golf Club with 19 teams made up of four players each, and there will be one golf professional within each team.
The goal is to boost the research centre, with every single part of any donation immediately going to the investigation into a disease that has claimed the lives of countless children.
