Arsenal are resigned to having subsidise Mesut Ozil’s wages if they can offload him.
Ozil, 29, has fallen out of favour at Arsenal since Unai Emery’s arrival last summer but is the club’s highest earner on £350,000-a-week and did not even make the bench at West Ham .
It comes at a time when Arsenal are desperately strapped for cash and are struggling to do any deals this month with Emery insisting they can only do loans.
But Arsenal would be willing to let Ozil go if he is not in Emery’s plans to ease the strain on the wage bill to help future squad rebuilding, although there have been no concrete offers yet.
There has been interest from China and suggestions Inter Milan could be interested in a loan but it is likely that Arsenal would end up having to pay part of his wages.
Gunners boss Emery has still not publicly dismissed the idea of getting Ozil, 30, back into the team but the chances of him getting back into favour under the new manager seem to be fading.
There are also growing concerns about the club’s set-up behind the scenes with head of recruitment Sven Mislintat’s future in serious doubt.
Arsenal officially insist Mislintat is not leaving amid reports that the ex-Borussia Dortmund scout is on his way out with Bayern Munich rumoured to be keen to take him back to Germany.
But there do exist issues at the training ground as it is believed Mislintat’s nose could have been put out of joint because Arsenal are looking to bring in a technical director.
Sources claim that Mislintat - who was brought in by former chief executive Ivan Gazidis - believed he would get that job if it became available.
Mislintat played a key role in bringing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan last January but Arsenal now have little or no budget and there is disillusionment all round.
Mislintat was hailed as a major coup for Arsenal when he arrived but the major changes behind the scenes at the club mean he is now working with a different manager and hierarchy at the club. There have been suggestions that Mislintat feels that his toes are being trodden on.
It is believed that Mislintat’s targets do not necessarily tally with Emery’s transfer wish list and, now with a technical director set to be appointed, that looks to be the cue for another potential departure.
Arsenal now appear to be going through a testing time with Barcelona ’s Denis Suarez their most likely signing but it would have to be on loan with a view to a permanent summer switch.

Arsenal should get rid of this Emery man b4 he totally destroy our club... He can't come and sell one of our greatest midfielder for these past few years without he having any suitable replacement
