Jamie Carragher left his CBS Sports colleagues astonished with his recall of granular details from the 1991 European Cup.
The former Liverpool defender discussed Red Star Belgrade's run to lifting the trophy against Marseille on penalties.
That was five years before Carragher had even started his professional football career, showing his devotion to learning about the game.
Carragher was able to recall Red Star's penalty shootout win, change of tactics, and their run to the final, though it is likely he would have done some research before discussing them on CBS, as last night they played RB Leipzig and lost 2-1.
'I'm gonna start calling this guy Google over here, he knows it all,' said Clint Dempsey, the ex-Fulham star.
'Carra, that's fantastic, fair play,' said Micah Richards, reaching out to shake the former Champions League winner's hand.
He didn't stop there, though, as he discussed the pathways taken by the Red Star stars.
Carragher remembered that Dejan Savicevic, formerly of Red Star, scored a brilliant lob in the 1994 final for AC Milan against Barcelona.
And when quizzed by Kate Abdo who the goalkeeper was in that match, Carragher knew. '[Andoni] Zubizarreta,' he replied after minimal hesitation.
'He's on fire!' Richards joked as Carragher slapped the table.
'This is really good,' concluded Abdo.
