Danish coach Michael Laudrup, a former Real Madrid and Barcelona player, among others, says he has not offered himself to replace Julen Lopetegui on the Los Blancos bench.
"I haven't offered myself to any team," he said in an email sent to Danish agency Ritzau after rumours suggested he wanted the Madrid job. "I never have done. I would never do that to a colleague."
According to Telemadrid, the former Getafe, Swansea and Mallorca boss had supposedly contacted Madrid with a view to replacing Lopetegui if he's sacked.
Laudrup, 54, played for Madrid as a player between 1994 and 1996. His coaching career began with Denmark in 2000, before he was appointed Brondby boss, where he won the league and the cup.
Getafe, Spartak Moscow, Mallorca, Swansea, Lekhwiya (Qatar) and Al Rayyan have all followed.

If Bale can go from Wales to Madrid, then why not Laudrup?

If our board really wanted him, they would've sacked Solari who hasn't really done a fantastic job. They had the option of choosing between Solari and Guti and they went with Solari.

His managerial career is so hyped in DK. Always a possibility of him training Barca or Madrid in the press.

I would love to see him train one of the big clubs. He has that Zidane type aura with him. Pretty sure he will still be the most technically proficient player in the training ground.

He is one of those who needs to have a target or a goal other wise he isnt as excited to work. he can motivate players to play far better than their ability, increase their self belief, but for all that, he really needs to have a goal. Maybe, with all the trophies on the line he could be motivated to work a lot more. With his players, just seeing him focused could get them to perform.

I loved his work at Swansea. He was the best player in training there too. Got them to win the League cup while playing great football. A very simple but efficient technique he used in the final to calm the nerves of his players. Chose to kick off first and in the first minute, told his players to get everyone a touch of the ball including the GK. This worked really well, and they played really well in the final. Remember reading an article about it too. Cant find it now.
