Milan 'lacked faith in Andre Silva' - said Nuno Gomes

Andre Silva failed to make an impact at Milan because “they didn’t put enough faith” in the Portugal international, said Nuno Gomes.

He scored 10 goals in 40 competitive games for the club, but only two of those were in Serie A.

On the other hand, he netted a hat-trick on his full Sevilla debut during the loan with option to buy, and will be eager to show what he can do in the Nations League clash between Italy and Portugal tomorrow.

“Andre Silva also arrived during a difficult time for the club. When you are a young player from overseas who doesn’t know the environment very well, and are seen as some saviour for the fans, usually things don’t go very well,” ex-Fiorentina forward Nuno Gomes told Tuttosport.

“He is not a typical Pippo Inzaghi style Number 9, but rather a striker who moves around a lot, tries to pass it around and often provides assists for others.

“He’s not the kind of player who just finishes in the box and that’s it.”
