Bukayo Saka has missed England training ahead of Tuesday’s game against Ghana, raising further doubt over his fitness.
However, Marcus Rashford did train with the group in Kansas City after concerns over a niggle coming out of the midweek win over Croatia.
Saka was working on his own individual programme on Saturday, as he continues to feel the effects of an Achilles injury. He will not be ready to start versus Ghana in Boston.
But there was better news on Rashford. He came off the bench during the 4-2 win over Croatia and impressed when scoring his side’s final goal.
We understand he felt something in his glute area and he did not feature when England beat Sporting Kansas City 5-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday.
Rashford is fine for the second group match, but Tuchel could yet keep him in reserve.
The head coach likes to have players like Rashford to impact from the bench, and rather than listen to any clamour for him to start, he will see the value in his quality against tired legs.
Harry Kane left the AT&T Stadium with strapping on his left calf, but we have been told that was related to cramp. He trained on Saturday.
