Turkey head coach Vincenzo Montella gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport, talking about the format of the European World Cup qualifiers.
In South America, 60% of the teams can qualify for the World Cup (up to 70% including intercontinental playoffs), while in Europe it is less than 30%
"Before I heard Italy head coach Gattuso's words, I had also had a similar assessment. Clearly, in a single group, it is much easier to qualify than to be eliminated. And now, too many things depend on the draw. For example, we have to beat Spain - the European Champions and the world's best national team - to directly qualify for the World Cup. Personally, I like the system used in the Champions League and other European club competitions, and I believe - at least this is my feeling - that FIFA will study a possible reform following a similar, more equitable model."
Turkey will face Spain away from home in the last round of World Cup Qualifiers Europe.

The reason South American teams all are in the same group is bcos they are just a few of them, maybe less than 15 teams. If we put them in groups of 4s/5s then you have 3 groups. Still that's small # of groups...Turkey would never qualify for WC in 50years if you put them in a group with Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Peru,...

we can all see clearly that the teams that are finding it difficult are the ones complaining....if you think you are good, just play and qualify

your problem is you are blind to see what is saying ...
Open our eyes boss so we can see/understand what Mr Montella is talking abt. Isn't he talking abt ability to qualify for the WC? How many European teams go there compared to South American, Africans, Asians...? In those European groups, you have 1 real opposition and the rest beatable teams. Eg look in the group Portugal is/was in. Ireland, Armenia, Hungary. Out of those 3, which team can you say is going to trouble Portugal say the same way Argentina, Brazil, Germany or France would? No team. B4 the groups start, you can even predict Portugal will come out #1. Only the lest of the teams fight it out for #2. It can be difficult for the lesser teams, agreed but not for bigger teams. You think it's easy for Argentina or Brazil, or Colombia /Uruguay to be #1 in those groups?
