Morata reveals he wants to end his career at Getafe

Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has revealed that he would like to return to Getafe to bring the curtain down on his career.

The 28-year-old started out at Atletico Madrid before moving through the youth ranks at Getafe and then Real Madrid. The forward scored 31 goals in 95 games for Los Blancos in two spells and netted 22 goals in 61 appearances in two stints at Atletico.

This summer Morata re-joined Juventus on a season-long loan from Atletico and has shed some light on where he would like to hang up his boots.

'I would like the last shirt I wear to be Getafe,' he told COPE's El Partidazo and Radio Marca.

'I have a very good relationship with the president and the people there – I think it's thanks to them I am the player I am.'

Morata, who spent a year at Getafe as a teenager, has also opened up on his bond with boyhood club Atletico but expressed doubt over whether he will play for them again.

'You always have a team from when you were little, and I am and will always be from Atletico. I want it to be very clear that I am grateful to Atleti,' he added.

'I have a very good relationship with Cholo [Diego Simeone] and I wish him all the best – you never know if we will meet again. I don't know if I will ever wear the Atletico shirt again. Right now I'm very well and calm, but you never know.'

Morata has scored six goals and supplied two assists in eight matches for Andrea Pirlo's side this season and is currently away on international duty with Spain.
