According to Spanish TV channel La Sexta, the Premier League club have studied the economic viability of the deal and told Mou he can go ahead.
Manchester United have activated their "bring Ronaldo home" plan, according to Spanish TV channel La Sexta. The information comes from journalist José Luis Sánchez, who says that José Mourinho, currently renegotiating his contract with Man Utd, has give the green light for the return of the Portuguese star, currently with Real Madrid. Ronaldo is currently unhappy at the Spanish giants and wants to leave next summer, with his first option being a return to Manchester United.
Man Utd's economic study says Ronaldo deal 'viable'
The Old Trafford outfit have carried out an economic 'deep dive' study into the economic viability of the operation, which would involve vast outlays in both transfer fees and salary, with Ronaldo desperate to be crowned as the biggest earner on football's money list. The English club foresee a total cost of 400 million euros, paying some 200 million to Real Madrid, but the marketing men and bean counters at Man Utd reckon the media impact and marketing potential could easily outweigh the spend, generating vast streams of income for the Red Devils.
This newspaper recently revealed that Ronaldo was "utterly depressed" because he felt he'd been "tricked". Having won the Duodécima (Real Madrid's 12th European Cup) with two goals from him (and having driven, as he sees it, Madrid to the final with eight goals in the quarter and semi-finals), president Florentino Pérez promised him an improved contract. However the new deal has not arrived. Ronaldo has won the last two Ballon d'Ors and feels that his performances have not been rewarded, particularly in light of the salary difference to other top players, with Messi and Neymar earning far more than him.
The return of Ronaldo to Manchester United would mean a re-encounter with Mourinho, who was his coach from 2010 to 2013 at the Bernabéu. The two did not always see eye to eye, but the passage of time has smoothed over any differences. Mou was invited to the premier of Ronaldo's film in London, and when asked about the player Mou said recently: "I've got great memories of him..."

I’m an old wag. I’ve lived Man U since 1958 when the plane had the accident. The remaining team members were so great and brave. So happy CR7 is coming home. I’m looking forward to seeing him play again. I know he will do well.

Real Madrid will surely perform poorly without Christiano Ronaldo . Expect the Big impact in Real Madrid. CR7 has contributed alot to this club and letting him go will be a careless decision by the management.

can't be paying £150m pounds or more for a player with (from a footballer perspective) about 3 seasons left in my opinion unless he is willing to drop his pay tremendously then maybe I'd say 90m at most coz this is still a legend, world class player and at 32 still 2nd best player in the world however many younger talented players showing world class potential and ability aswell and so you must consider how exactly you will invest the money as with this hyper-inflation esq transfer market no-one is coming cheap

Ronaldo is a great player and still good despite his age. ManU has a lot to gain, younger players will learn a lot from his skills , style and determination , the club will equally make their money back. This is good. CR7 should come back.

I think it's time to put this back to show support to the greatest human being ever to play football. I wish Cristiano knew how powerful & unbreakable his army is. Seriously we've been through a lot but I'm sure none of us would ask for other idol or other fandom. No matter what you do, no matter where you go you will always have us. Always with Cristiano! Forever by your side, Cristiano Ronaldo 👑👏
