Thomas Müller has made it clear that he has no ambitions of becoming captain at Bayern München in the future.
In an interview with Sport Bild, the 30-year-old says he would be happy to see Manuel Neuer keep the the captain's armband.
"I don't hope so," Müller said when asked if he would like to take on the role as captain.
"I've always tried to take responsibility, but 'Manu' can happily remain captain until the end of my career," he added.
Asked about Neuer's current negotiations with Bayern over a contract extension beyond 2021, Müller said:
"The parties have more a year to reach an agreement. My wish is that they can agree on a contract extension in the end."
"It would be nice if you could say about me after my career: 'Man! Even at the age of 30 this guy was able to win the Champions League again!'
"That is definitely my goal: after 2013 I want to hold up the handle pot at Bavaria again. Now I think it's time that we as Bayern should push it a little bit more. We want to actively achieve the goal. "

You're just clutching at straws now. If UEFA actually uses this ranking system, they're corrupt because it's not a reasonable method of deciding who goes through. We were in top 4 last season and currently are still in it. We're also the Europa League Champions while Arsenal weren't in top 4 for more than 3 seasons and never won the Europa League. Furthermore we were ahead of Liverpool in the UEFA Coefficient ranking last year so that itself proves how flawed it is. But I understand this is one way you can celebrate if it does happen. I understand the bitterness towards us after that 2012 Final. Trust me, I love the fact that Bayern fans are still moaning about it. It is also the proudest moment of our club's history which Bayern Munich is a big part of it. Giving us great hospitality and handing us the title. Thank you Bayern Munich 🙏🏻

Liverpool and Man City play at a very high level no doubt. I can accept that. We're a team in transition. I can accept all these facts. What I will say is that Bayern Munich are not the team that you make them out to be. Any big club can get knocked out in the UCL if they have one bad night. It doesn't matter how strong they're on paper. Even Man City, Barcelona or PSG can get knocked out by weaker sides. And Bayern Munich is no exception. You lost to Liverpool because they were simply better on the night over 2 legs. So we haven't lost unless we play the 2nd leg and you manage to keep the lead. We have to try and beat you 4-1 which is not mission impossible.

Bundesliga clubs get a nice winter break because they play 4 matches lesser than clubs in every other league. As simple as that.

Chelsea is a club with a lot of instability over recent years. We gave away some good gems and signed average players. We still managed to win trophies. We're currently in transition but believe me, we have some great talents coming through from the academy which you clearly don't seem to rate. We're making steps towards becoming the force we once were about 10-15 years ago. Btw Kanté didn't even play the first leg so you clearly weren't watching the match. You beat our weakest side in UCL history 3-0 but you're already getting carried away. You say you respect us and then say humility goes out of the window in an uneven matchup. i do have respect. i hated that chelsea won in 2012 but that doesnt mean that that side wasnt worthy. drogba lampard cole cech are all great players and were capable of beating bayern munich. but over the years, bayern munich's standard and quality is the same with world class players in every position and there is not single bad player, while chelsea dont have a single players who is good enuf besides willian and kante, who arent that good this season either. i didnt even feel kantes presence in ro 16 first leg. humility kind of goes out of the window when the matchup is so uneven and we were so dominating😂
