Rafael Nadal is hoping his uncle Toni can succeed in his bid to earn a place on the board at Barcelona. Toni Nadal, who coached his nephew for the majority of his tennis career, has been named as part of presidential candidate Victor Font's candidacy.

Presidential elections are due to take place in the coming months at the Catalan club after Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned from his position in October. Rafa Nadal, a Real Madrid fan, had a message for his uncle after Font's announcement.
"It will be a very good opportunity for him and I wish him the best because he's my uncle and he's a very close person to me," Nadal said from Paris. "I hope it goes the best way possible for him."
