Former Barcelona player Pablo Alfaro has claimed that the Blaugrana could do without signing Neymar this summer.
The reigning LaLiga Santander champions are trying to bring the Brazilian forward back to the Camp Nou, but the Ibiza head coach insisted that such a move could mean trouble for Ernesto Valverde.
"Neymar is this summer's soap opera and Barcelona don't need to sign him," Alfaro told Radio MARCA.
"If he arrives there will be a lot of roosters in the same chicken coop and Valverde will have to manage it well."
Alfaro went on to identify Cristiano Ronaldo's departure as the main reason behind Real Madrid's underwhelming 2018/19 season.
"Replacing the goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo is not easy and you can notice it at Real Madrid," he added.
"Despite everything, they have a good team and their DNA will make them fight this season."

Every club could use Neymar. He's better than those other players except Messi. Unless Barca is just strapped for money or the locker room really doesn't want him I don't see why you would pass on one of the best players in world. Especially if they can get trade players they don't want or who aren't as good as part of it.

We are all saying they don’t need him but that’s not entirely true because till date you can’t really tell any specific player who can carry the team after the GOAT retires and I think Neymar would be a good successor but his attitude is killing the whole idea. Let’s be honest griezman or coutinho can’t be the main guy for Barca. Neymar is that guy but Barca would have a lot of work to do on him. Re-signing Neymar is something no proud club would ever do after the way he left. He thought grass was greener, let him keep pasturing in Paris.
