Nicolas Pépé has been called back to the Ivory Coast National Football Team squad ahead of the Fifa World Cup 2026 preparations.
Coach Emerse Faé had initially unveiled an expanded list for the March international break, aiming to test new options and build cohesion with friendly matches against South Korea and Scotland.
The squad, however, saw a late change as Yan Diomandé withdrew due to a shoulder injury, paving the way for Pépé’s return. The Villarreal winger, who missed the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, now has a key opportunity to relaunch his international career and strengthen his position in the attacking lineup ahead of major competitions.
