Nottingham Forest have made a £21.5million offer for Roma's Brazil international centre-back Roger Ibanez.
The 24-year-old defender has impressed for Giallorossi over the last two seasons at Stadio Olimpico.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Thursday: 'Nottingham Forest have submitted official bid to AS Roma for Roger Ibañez, proposal worth around €25m fee.
'Negotiations underway to reach an agreement, Forest are pushing for Brazilian CB.'
It would be the third summer move after signing Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga for £15m and striker Chris Wood on a permanent deal from Newcastle.
Forest broke a Premier League record last summer by signing 21 players in a single transfer window.
Steve Cooper wants more additions this year - with a similar profile to the 21-year-old Sweden international Elanga.
'Hopefully the other players we bring in - because we need other players that's for sure - will be of equal athleticism,' he said.
'You always want young players in your squad that can become an asset to the club while having an impact on a short-term basis.
