OFFICIAL: Real Madrid's forgotten man Fabio Coentrao returns to boyhood club Rio Ave on loan
Coentrao ends his seven-year stay at Real Madrid after having fallen out of favour to Marcelo for the last couple of seasons.
He has made just 106 appearances for Real Madrid since joining the club in 2011 from Benfica.
He went on loan to Monaco and Sporting CP for the better part of last three seasons, returning to Los Blancos this summer.
Not being a part of Julen Lopetegui's plan, Coentrao is deemed surplus to requirement but fails to find himself a new club earlier.
He has now secured a loan move to Rio Ave, the club where he began his career back in 2004.

I remember those days when he used to bench marcelo but poor disciplinary record and some bad injuries ruined and took back to the place where he came from😒😒 sad to see this guy leaving
