Spain will travel to the Under-17 World Cup in Brazil this month without Barcelona's breakthrough talent, Ansu Fati.
Having declared for Spain it was hoped that he would accompany the side at the tournament, but David Gordo's squad has been named without the forward.
"We understand that the best option for the boy is to stay and have the chance to play with a higher group in November," Francis Hernandez, sporting director of Spain's underage sides, said.
