Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta named March's Barclays Manager of the Month
Arsenal manager takes accolade for the second time this season following near-perfect month
Mikel Arteta has claimed his second Barclays Manager of the Month award of the 2021/22 season after winning March's prize.
Arteta, who also took the accolade in September, guided Arsenal to three victories from four matches in March to strengthen their grip on fourth place.
Arsenal started the month with a thrilling 3-2 win at Watford to climb to fourth spot, and followed that by beating Leicester City 2-0 for a fifth successive Premier League victory.
The Gunners responded positively to a 2-0 home defeat by Liverpool, ending the month with a 1-0 triumph at Aston Villa.
It was the first time in seven years that Arsenal had won five consecutive Premier League away matches, and Arteta will look to make it six when his team travel to Crystal Palace on Monday.
The 40-year-old topped a five-man shortlist, beating Antonio Conte, Jurgen Klopp, Brendan Rodgers and Thomas Tuchel after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of football experts.

I have read the comments of a lot of fans about managers winning all their matches to be given the award. But I think the award should be given to those managers who put a performance which we usually do not expect. Same here with Arteta, this man has shown some personality and decision-making which is what very few managers do these days. He will grow up more and more.
