Paul Pogba misses Manchester United's training camp in Dubai due to injury

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has not travelled with the squad for their warm weather training camp in Dubai, but has instead remained in England for treatment on an injury picked up against Newcastle.

United players were spotted arriving at the airport and boarding their jet bound for the Middle East, but France international Pogba was nowhere to be seen.

The Red Devils have since confirmed Pogba's absence is due to a 'knock' sustained in the recent victory over Newcastle - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's fourth consecutive Premier League victory since taking over from Jose Mourinho.

United did not offer specifics on Pogba's 'knock,' though the injury could relate to a dangerous challenge put in by midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

Solskjaer has already warned his men that, despite their winning run, the mid-season trip to Dubai will be anything but a relaxing break.

Striker Romelu Lukaku was among the travelling party however, and has this week commended the way Solskjaer has revived United since his introduction.

The £75million man has also praised the Norwegian boss for helping him personally, and admitted there is a natural understanding given that Solskjaer used to be a prolific striker himself.

'He helps us a lot,' The Belgian said of Solskjaer.

'In training when we do the finishing, he helps us a lot - how to strike the ball, how to move away from the ball.

'And the way how he wants us to play really benefits me because he wants me to be in a position where I want to be, so he understands what type of striker you are and he just plays to your strengths.

'Through the middle, just facing the goal at all times and he knows that I am dangerous in that manner but also helping the team off the ball and stuff like that.

'I think we are back to ourselves and it's good to see the players enjoy (it) and winning games, which is the most important thing.

'We are Manchester United and we try to go out there and win every game.'
