Petit: Chelsea should let Enzo go, trade him for Real madrid's Camavinga

Former French international and former Chelsea player Petit believes Enzo has "had enough" at Chelsea and should leave the club this summer – and his perfect replacement is playing for Real Madrid.

Enzo previously expressed disappointment when Chelsea sacked coach Maresca in January, and the Blues will also miss out on European competition next season. In April, rumors of a move to Real Madrid intensified after Enzo praised Madrid as a livable city, leading to a two-match internal suspension from the club. Petit believes it's best for both parties to go their separate ways.

Petit said in an interview: "Enzo should go. If he wants to leave, you can't keep him happy. He did say he wanted to leave and then was fined by the club. I know he might have been one of Chelsea's best players in the last two years, but as a team captain, you can't communicate like that. Obviously, he wants to leave the club, we're not stupid. I think he's had enough of everything that's happened at Chelsea; this season has been a mess. Real Madrid is clearly interested in him. Real Madrid urgently needs to bring in some strong midfielders. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves Chelsea for Real Madrid or elsewhere."

However, letting Enzo go is easier said than done, as Chelsea values him at £120 million, hoping to make a slight profit on the £106.8 million they paid Benfica in January 2023. Alternatively, a player exchange might benefit all parties.

Petit believes Alonso should consider signing Real Madrid midfielder: "Camavinga for Enzo? Why not? Camavinga is still very young. He left Rennes at 18 to join Real Madrid and has played for Real Madrid for six or seven years. He has also won some major trophies. This guy has always been an amazing young talent. Given the club's situation, I can't judge his performance level over the past two seasons. Many players don't perform well at Real Madrid for various reasons. Camavinga could do very well because we know Chelsea mostly has young players, and he has experience. When you come from Real Madrid to Chelsea, having won many trophies, played there for so many years, and played for the national team, the experience you bring is exactly what Chelsea might be lacking. Camavinga is very talented, and he would be a great fit."

Camavinga has made 223 appearances for Real Madrid, winning two La Liga titles and two Champions League titles. He can also play as a left-back and, despite being only 23, has a wealth of experience. Furthermore, it seems he might be available for departure this summer, with foreign media reporting that incoming Real Madrid coach Mourinho has listed him as an unwanted player.
