After Barcelona's humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals, Gerard Pique said the club needs “changes at all levels.”
“Shame” was the first word that came to the mind of Barcelona defender Gerard Pique after after his side suffered a humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League on Friday in Portugal.
The veteran defender played the entire game but there was little he could do to stop the Bayern onlsaught, which was made even worse when Barcelona loanee Philippe Countinho netted a brace at the end of the game to add insult to what was already a horrific injury.
“Shameful is the word, nobody is untouchable. If new blood has to come and change this dynamic, I will be the first to pack up and leave. Now we have hit rock bottom. This is not the first, second, or third time that this has happened to us. I am in pain, we all are. We can’t compete like that, the club needs changes, not just players, I don’t want to point out anyone,” he said after the game.
Pique: Time for reflection at Barcelona
“We all need to reflect deeply. If new blood needs to come for the club to change course then I will be the first one to leave if that is what it is best for the team. We need to reflect on what is the best thing for the club and for Barca,” Pique added.

Pique is one of those players who are old and declining but they still love the club. unlike others who are staying at the club for their hefty salaries.. I remember how Luis Enrique benched a players like Xavi, despite him giving good performances even at the age of 35. But somehow managers these days do not dare to bench suarez and vidal and busquets and alba, just because their club de amigos won't like it. These players are ruining this beautiful and glorious club. As a fan I couldn't feel worse for the club. We need a head to toe reform and the oldies need to leave now. I hope we rule the European grounds again like we used to ❤️💙

I'm not trying to sound offensive or mean to Barcelona, it's a great club that doesn't deserve such loss, but maybe this 8-2 loss can turn to be a good "slap" for those in the club that are actually careless or make careless decisions and signings. is it just the coach to blame? I DON'T THINK SO. When you see Ter Stegen passing the ball to Bayern players you should know that there's something "unhealthy" inside the club. Football is beautiful when barca is the barca we know. They need a change hard luck barca. Great performance Bayern, next is "tougher".

As for him pique, he doesn't even need to say if I have to live, he should have lived the moment iniesta live, after the cursing the team so many damages he now knows it's time to live, I don't even count him as a defender, eny body or player can play what pique is playing in barca, because of politics he is still playing barca till date, whenever they buy a player to play in his position he would be complaining, now to days team is built from the back, but in barca because of politics, they would rather get rid of the young ones so that this fool's can be at thire positions, how can you play Roberto in such a big game while the is no one to guide him when he moves forward, rather playing Vidal in front of him
