Barcelona boss Quique Setien hailed his side's resolve in their 3-1 win in the last-16 Champions League second leg against Napoli and insisted Lionel Messi will make their showdown with Bayern Munich next week.
Goals from Clement Lenglet, Messi and Luis Suarez ensured Barcelona capitalised on their 1-1 draw in Naples before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Catalan giants therefore secured their place in a 13th consecutive Champions League quarter final despite Lorenzo Insigne's penalty, and Setien praised his side as being worthy of a place in the last eight of the competition.
'We wanted to make sure we got through, and we will play other games with this type of spirit,' Setien said in a post-match interview with El Chiringuito.
'The team played well and deserved the victory. They caused us problems, but we controlled the game in the first half.
'We had problems after the break, but we reduced them to few chances.'
Setien also confirmed there 'shouldn't be a problem' with Messi after an injury concern in the first half.
Kalidou Koulibaly caught the Argentina star while attempting to clear the ball inside the box and as a result he was unable to take the resulting penalty which was instead scored by Suarez.
But Setien has allayed fears of his potential absence against Bayern in Lisbon next week and insists the problem is not as bad as originally feared.
He said: 'Messi? He had some pain, but there shouldn't be a problem. He was fine. We will analyse it, but there won't be a problem.'

If Barca want to win Dembele needs to play atleast the 2nd half. His speed is a threat and our counter attacks will get us a goal. This is the most versatile team.

I liked what I saw in the first half. De Jong was absolutely incredible, Rakitic was useless, and Roberto was nowhere to be found. Messi was incredible, best performance I’ve seen from Semedo in a Barca kit, Pique and Lenglet were strong, Alba played alright compared to his normal game, but still good, and Griezmann was fairly good. Suarez was absolutely terrible, and was a waste of a player on the pitch for Barca. Here is how Barca should lineup for the Bayern Munich clash of course assuming that Dembele is back.
